Bridal Aesthetics Timeline: 6, 3, and 1 Month Plans

The single biggest mistake brides make is timing. Here is the schedule that works.

The single biggest cause of disappointing bridal aesthetic results is timing. Brides who book filler the week before the wedding rarely look their best on the day. Brides who plan a 6, 3, and 1 month protocol consistently look the way they hoped to. This post lays out the protocol that works, the treatments suitable at each stage, and the firm rule about the final two weeks.

I am Cristina Pardo, an NMC-registered aesthetic nurse practitioner in Norwich. I work mobile across Norwich and Norfolk, which makes bridal preparation easier (I come to the house, no clinic visits during a busy period). This is the timeline I recommend.

Six months before: foundation work

Six months out is the right time to start skin quality treatments. Polynucleotides and Profhilo both reach their peak result 8 weeks after a course of two, so starting at 6 months gives you a peak result at around 4 months, then a maintenance session at 2 months out for the wedding day glow.

Six months is also the time to start filler if you have never had it before. Lip filler in particular benefits from time to settle. A first lip filler treatment 6 months out gives you the chance to assess at 4 weeks, refine if needed, and have the result fully integrated by the wedding.

Cheek or jawline filler 6 months out is also suitable. Both areas integrate well over 8 to 12 weeks and look more natural the longer they have to settle.

Microneedling courses (Dermapen, course of 3) work well starting at 6 months. Most clients see the strongest skin texture improvement around 8 to 12 weeks after the final session.

Three months before: refinement and maintenance

Three months out is the right window for a top-up of any filler placed at the 6 month mark. A small refinement (0.5ml lip filler top-up, or a small additional dose anywhere needed) lifts the result.

Three months is also the right time for a Profhilo session if you started the course at 6 months. Spacing it this way builds the cumulative response toward the wedding day.

Tear trough filler can be appropriate at 3 months out, but only if you have had it before. A first tear trough treatment should be done earlier in case bruising or unevenness needs correction.

Microneedling can continue at this stage if the course is not yet complete.

One month before: glow boost and Botox window

One month out is the window for a final Profhilo session if you have been building a course. The hydration peak from this session will be around the wedding day.

Botox (when launched at Pardo from September 2026) at one month out is correct for most clients. Botox peaks at 2 weeks after treatment, so 4 weeks out gives you a settled, natural result by the day.

A small dose of microneedling at one month can help if texture is still a concern. Skip if you have any active inflammation.

Hair removal, skincare optimisation, and a focus on hydration become the priorities in this final month.

The two-week rule: nothing new

Two weeks before the wedding, the only acceptable aesthetic intervention is finishing a previously planned routine. No first-time treatments. No filler. No new products on the skin. No microneedling. Nothing that could leave a mark, cause a reaction, or need recovery.

Why two weeks: most aesthetic complications either appear or fully settle within this window. A bruise from filler placed 13 days before the wedding is visible on the day. A bruise from filler placed 21 days before is gone.

The exception is Botox already in the routine. A scheduled Botox top-up at 2 weeks for someone who has had it many times before is usually fine. A first-ever Botox at 2 weeks out is not.

Skincare in the final two weeks: hydration and SPF. Nothing active, nothing exfoliating, nothing retinol-based.

The 48-hour rule: no alcohol, no new skincare

Two days before the wedding, stop alcohol entirely. It dehydrates the skin and increases redness.

Sleep, water, gentle hydrating skincare, lip balm. Nothing new.

Avoid spicy food, very salty food, and anything you know causes you to puff up. Wedding eve dinners with rich food are a known cause of next-day skin disappointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Lip filler causes swelling for 24 to 48 hours and sometimes bruising for up to a week. A last-minute lip filler appointment is the single most common cause of disappointing wedding-day photos.

Six months before is the ideal start point. Twelve months before is even better if you want to try Profhilo or polynucleotides courses for cumulative skin quality improvement.

Yes, with timing. Four weeks before the day is the right window for most people. Two weeks out is too close for a first-time Botox client.

Stick to skin treatments, hydration, and a really good skincare and SPF routine. A facial in the week before. Avoid anything injectable in the final two weeks.

Not yet a formal package, but I am happy to plan a custom bridal timeline as a free consultation. Mobile across Norwich and 15 miles means we can do everything at the house or at a bridal venue close to the date.

Varies widely depending on what you choose. A typical plan is around £800 to £1,500 spread across 6 months for a comprehensive package including lip filler, Profhilo course, and a top-up. Itemised quotes after the consultation.
